My Tanning Experience

We all want to have that bronzy skin color, especially in the summer.
We lay down in the sun for hours; go to tanning beds numerous times after each other just so we can get that “perfect” skin color.

But are we aware about the consequences we put ourselves in every time our skin gets sun exposure?

(picture doesn't show the true red color)

Well I was aware of the consequences but I didn’t think it was so much of a deal.
Living in Curacao is always hot and sunny, so we went to the beach like 4 weeks ago and we were sitting in the sun for like 3 hours; take a dive sit again in the sun for hours until it started to get dark.
At that time I didn’t realize what I was doing, I didn’t pay much attention to the redness of my skin and all the harm I could do to it. I did use sunscreen but only on my upper body.
When going home my mom was telling me that my legs are super red, but I told her I always get red first and then I will get that “darker” color.
Well I was wrong. The next day when I woke up I couldn’t even stand on my feet for 2 minutes that I had to sit down again because I had those horrifying cramps that made it impossible for me to walk. My legs were so delicate that it couldn’t get in touch with nothing, not even water when I took showers.

The cramp stayed like that for about 1 full week until it went away.
I got scared and was told to go to the doctor for a checkup but I was too scared for that.
Beside the cramp my leg was super red and even now after 4 week I still haven’t got my original skin color.
The “funny” part of this is that I didn’t lay straight, my leg was up (weird position for tanning, I know) so now I have this line on my leg which prevents me from wearing skirts, dresses etc. that’s above that line.

Some tips I can give you is
1.      Use Sunscreen on your entire body.
Sometimes we forgot that not only our arms, face and backs get sun exposure, but our entire body. So apply the sunscreen on your entire body.
Re-apply your sunscreen every time you go into the water.
2.      Wear a hat (instead of sunglasses)
If you wear sunglasses only you can get marked on your face, and no one wants to have their shape of sunglasses on their face. Your sunglasses can also be ruined in the beach or pool when it gets water, so instead use a hat.  (ofcourse you can wear it, it's your own choice)
3.      Don’t sit for hours in the sun.
Take a dive, sit in the shadow a little then like for 30 min in the sun. Switch it every time. But never sit more than 30 min in the sun.

That was some tips I can give you guys.

I hope this can help you guys realize what we can go through when we want to tan.

Stay Tune for Part 2 - Tanning lotions

p.s.: sorry for not posting any pictures but I don't want to post a picture on how my leg looks like now, not that it look bad but I'm a little ashamed (hopefully it will clear up soon).

Give your hair a break, It's summer

Summer is the best season for the no heat hairstyles.
Heat has been always one of the number one causes for damaged hair.

It's been on now for years that girls have been taking this challenge. The no heat hairstyles for summer.
It's basically where they go the entire summer without heat on their hair. With heat I mean, blow drying your hair, curling it with the curling iron or by using flat irons.

Lesser heat mean automatically healthier hair!

Are you guys gonna do this challenge?
I'm not sure if I can hold on to it, but I will try my best to use lesser heat on my hair!

Here are some hairstyles that don’t require heat.

What's in my Beach Bag

Hey dolls,

When i think of Summer I think of the beach, so I thought to myself why not do a what's in my beach bag.
It's basically to show you guys some must have to bring to the beach.
Of course you can bring more or less items at the beach. This is just what I think it's good to bring to the beach.

Here are my must have items:
Swimsuite
Some people like to put it on before leaving to the beach and somme just like to put it on when they are at the beach.

Sunscreen to put on
Beach towel
A beach towel is not only good for after you're done swimming but also to put on the sand and lay on.

Hairbrush, cause you don't want to go home with that messy hair.
Cover-ups
Cover-ups are more comfy to wear at the beach. You just throw them on and you are good to go.

Flipflops
There is nothing more comfortable to waer at the beach then flip flops. Am I wrong?

Hat/Sunglasses
Sunglasses protects your eyes from thos harmfull sunrays and the hat protects your hair!

Magazines
Magazines are good to have at the beach.

Bottle of Water
The sun is high and you don't want to get dehydrated.
Water is the best option! It doesn't only take away your thirst but is healthier then drinking soda or cocktails or whatever sugary drinks you want to drink.
BUT this doesn't mean that you can't drink one of those delishes drinks you get at the beach

What do you guys take to the beach?
Comment below and let me know
xoxo

Inglot is coming to town

I’m super-duper exited, because our island is getting bigger in the beauty industry.
Yes, Inglot is coming to Curacao. As stated on their Facebook page they said that the store will be open end of June. *My fingers are crossed*
Since I’m so excited and can’t wait for them to open, I went on their website and started to put some of their products on my wish list. I’m just hoping that they will bring a very wide assortment and that “everything” listed on the website will be available here in Curacao, well almost all of them.

Here are some of my picks:

I already see some reviews on Inglot cosmetics but of course more are welcome.
If you guys have any experience with Inglot I would be very happy for you to share them with me.

It's Monday, Funday

Wooohooo, its Monday, fun day.
You guys think so? Well I don’t
I have never been a fan of Monday, but I keep telling myself it only happens once a week. LOL

To brighten up your Monday here are some cool pictures I want to share.
Can you imagine yourself having closets like this ones?
Well I do, someday!

Have a super nice week!
